Are you feeling a little uncertain about buying travel insurance?
Maybe you’re not sure it’s worth the expense.
Maybe you’re not sure that a specific plan is the right one for you.
Maybe you’re not even sure you’re going to go on your trip.
It’s OK — we get it! That’s why Allianz Travel Insurance includes a 15-day free review period with every plan.
When you purchase any Allianz Travel Insurance plan, you automatically get 15 days (or more, depending on your state of residence) to review your policy documents. Within that period, you can cancel your plan for a full refund if you’re not satisfied, as long as you haven’t filed a claim or departed on your trip. That’s our promise to you.
We recommend reading your plan documents to make sure you understand how your plan works and what’s covered. Travel insurance can be complicated, and we don’t want anyone to feel confused or unsure about their benefits.

The 15-day review period also gives you the opportunity to ask questions. If there’s anything you don’t understand about your coverage, contact us anytime to get answers from customer service.
Take the time to think about whether your travel insurance plan meets your needs and fits your budget. If it does, great! If not, then you can cancel the plan and get your money back.
We make it easy. On our website, click Manage a Policy. To access your policy, you’ll need to enter your email address or your policy number, as well as your plan start date or purchase date. (Find this information in your policy documents, or in your confirmation email.) You can also view your policy by signing in to your account.
Then, click “Cancel Policy” in the menu. Need help? Call Support at 1-866-884-3556.
Yes! Your travel protection plan is active during the free 15-day review period. Your protection begins on your Coverage Effective Date, which is specified in your policy declarations.
You can’t cancel your travel insurance policy after you’ve left for your trip, or if you’ve already filed a claim.
As long as you haven’t yet departed on your trip or filed a claim, you may be able to change certain details (such as adding trip costs or changing the dates). For the fastest service, use our online plan management tool. If you need help, contact us.
If you’re still within the 15-day review period (and you haven’t left or filed a claim), you can cancel the plan you purchased and then buy a new one.
After the 15 days is up, you can’t cancel or switch your plan. If you need to adjust or add benefits, however, we may be able to help. Contact us and tell us what you’re looking for.
Read the description of the travel insurance plan you’re considering and ask yourself: Does this cover the things that could go wrong on my trip? Then, get an instant quote and make sure the cost fits your budget.
If you’re on a tight budget and you just want to protect your trip investment, consider our most economical travel insurance plan: OneTrip Cancellation Plus. This plan just includes the essentials: benefits for trip cancellation, trip interruption and travel delay.
If you’re going overseas, emergency medical benefits are crucial. Our most popular plan for international trips and cruises is OneTrip Prime. This plan includes a broad range of benefits with generous maximum limits. It’s a good choice for families, because it covers kids 17 and under for free when traveling with a parent or grandparent (not available on policies issued to Pennsylvania residents).
If you’re planning more than two trips this year, consider the AllTrips Prime plan. This and other AllTrips plans can protect all the trips you take in a 365-day period, from quick getaways to long vacations. It includes all the key benefits: trip cancellation and interruption, travel delay, baggage delay, emergency medical and more.

If you’ve canceled your travel insurance plan, we can’t honor any claims, nor can we reinstate your plan. If you buy a new plan, your protection will begin on your Plan Effective Date — coverage is not retroactive. Travel insurance is intended to protect you against unforeseeable events that have not yet occurred.
This is why it’s so important to protect yourself, your trip and your loved ones with travel insurance. If you’re not sure which plan to buy, we can help! Take a look at the extensive resources in our Travel Insurance 101 library. Or contact us anytime for personalized assistance choosing a plan.
