We say it often: AllTrips plans are one of the best-kept secrets in travel. You really can get an affordable travel insurance plan that protects all your trips for 365 days!
“But wait,” people say. “Do you really mean all my trips? Aren’t there limits?”
Not many. Read on to discover what annual travel insurance from Allianz Partners can cover.
Yes. As long as your destination is 100 miles or more from your home, your trip can be covered. That’s one of the best things about having an AllTrips plan: It can protect all the shorter getaways and last-minute trips you normally wouldn’t insure. For example, say you grab a great deal on a weekend package at a nearby ski resort. Lift tickets, ski rentals, and two nights at the lodge are all included. The only catch? It’s non-refundable. Fortunately, your AllTrips plan can reimburse lost trip costs if you have to cancel for a covered reason.
Yes. The maximum trip length depends on the plan you choose. Most of our annual travel insurance plans can cover trips up to 45 days. AllTrips Premier can protect trips up to 90 days in length.
If your trip will exceed this length, you’ll need a single-trip plan that can protect trips of up to 180-365 days.
Yes! There’s no limit on the number of trips you take — only on trip length (maximum trip length varies by plan). So if you’re someone who loves getting out of town every single weekend, your AllTrips plan can safeguard all your adventures.
There are a few things to keep in mind, however. One: Travel insurance can’t cover you if you’re traveling while operating or working as a crew member (including as a trainee or learner/student) aboard any aircraft, commercial vehicle or commercial watercraft. So if you’re a flight attendant or a cruise ship captain (for example), an annual plan isn’t the right fit for you.
Also, be aware that multi-trip travel insurance has an annual cap on trip cancellation benefits and trip interruption benefits—for all the trips you take combined. These limits are:
What does this mean for frequent travelers? Let’s say you have 9 trips planned this year. You end up having to cancel trip #3 because you’re sick with the flu, so you file a trip cancellation claim and get reimbursed $3,000. Sweet! However, your AllTrips Prime plan has a $3,000 limit for the year, so you won’t be able to file any more cancellation claims for your other trips.
To avoid this issue, you can a) insure high-dollar trips separately with a OneTrip plan or b) choose an AllTrips plan with a higher per-year limit for trip cancellation/interruption.
You bet. Wherever you go in the world, your AllTrips plan is right there with you.
Pro tip: Remember to check the maximum limit on trip cancellation for your annual travel insurance plan. If the cost of your overseas vacation exceeds your plan limit, you may want to purchase single-trip protection.
Yes. If you’re someone who enjoys taking multiple cruises in a year, an AllTrips plan can be a smart choice—especially compared to the protection plans offered by the cruise lines.
Why? An AllTrips plan can reimburse 100% of nonrefundable costs when you cancel a cruise for a covered reason, including airfare and other trip expenses. Some cruise lines’ insurance plans refund less than 100% of the fare, and typically are limited to cruise expenses only. Learn more in our cruise line insurance plan comparison.
Yes. As long as you’re traveling more than 100 miles from your home, the trip can be covered.
Did you know that your AllTrips plan includes the Rental Car Damage Protector (available to residents of most states)? This covers costs if a car you're renting is stolen or is damaged in an accident or while it's left unattended. Having this benefit can save you a lot of money, too. Rental car companies typically charge $10 to $30/day for a collision damage waiver for economy vehicles, or 25 to 40 percent of the base rental price, according to WalletHub.
Yes. The best annual plan for family travel is AllTrips Premier. This plan can protect your entire household all year long, whether you’re traveling together or individually. Choose your maximum limit for trip cancellation/interruption, from $2,000 to $15,000 per year.
Pro tip: If you’re taking just one big family trip this year, consider OneTrip Prime instead. Our most popular choice for vacations, OneTrip Prime covers kids 17 and under for free when traveling with a parent or grandparent (not available on policies issued to Pennsylvania residents).
Yes. Business trips are protected by your AllTrips plan, just like any other trip. We even have a travel insurance plan for business travelers: the AllTrips Executive Plan. This plan includes special protection for business equipment. If your equipment is lost, stolen, damaged or delayed by an airline or other carrier, insurance can reimburse reasonable costs for equipment rental, replacement and/or repair.
AllTrips Executive also includes a few additional covered reasons for trip cancellation that are work-related:
Note that travel insurance does not cover commuting to and from work.
Travelers sometimes ask: Why do I need travel insurance for a work trip when my company is covering all the costs? Insurance is there to protect you from financial losses your employer won’t pay for: medical emergencies, baggage problems, trip delays and more.
